Privacy Policy

A plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and what happens with it.

Last updated · June 20, 2026

Tentmaker Travels ("we," "us") runs this website to share our mission, point people to resources, and make it easy to get in touch or give. We try to collect as little personal information as possible, and we never sell it.

What we collect

The only information you actively send us through this site is what you type into our contact form: your name, email address, and the message you choose to share.

Like most websites, our host may receive standard request data (such as IP address and browser user-agent) in server logs when your browser loads a page. We do not run our own analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and we do not set marketing cookies.

How we use it

  • To read and respond to messages you send through the contact form.
  • To keep the site running reliably and to diagnose technical problems.

We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.

Third-party services

A handful of outside services are linked or embedded on this site:

  • Aperio (our giving platform) — when you give, the amount, frequency, and any name, email, or bank/card details you enter are transmitted to our payment processor to complete the gift. Payment credentials are collected and processed by that processor under its own privacy policy and are not stored on this site. We receive only the donation details the processor makes available to recipients.
  • YouTube — our Resources page links to videos on YouTube and displays YouTube-hosted thumbnail images. Loading those thumbnails sends a request to YouTube/Google.
  • Google favicon service — small site icons next to each linked resource are loaded from Google's public favicon endpoint, which involves a request to Google.

We do not share your contact-form submissions with any of these services.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies for site functionality and privacy-friendly analytics. Third-party services embedded on this site — such as YouTube (video thumbnails and embeds) and our giving platform (donation processing) — may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. Essential cookies required for the site to function are always allowed.
